Babies: Drama Games

from the pyjama Drama.com website.

This is me!
A simple rhyming game to help young children learn about themselves

Start this game by sitting your little one in front of you, so they can watch and copy you as you recite:
This is the circle that is my head (make large circle with both hands)
This is my mouth with which words are said (point to mouth)
These are my eyes with which I see (point to eyes)
This is my nose that's a part of me (point to nose)
This is the hair that grows on my head (point to hair)
And this is my hat all pretty and red (place hands on head)

Grow Bag
A game for not so sleepy little children!

Start this game by snuggling down with your baby under a blanket, and then pretend you are trying to get to sleep as you recite:
Trying to get to sleep in our beds
Lifting the cover over our heads (lift blanket over your heads)
But we’re not tired so everybody shout,
‘We can’t get to sleep so let’s play out!’ (lift the blanket off)

Chatterbox
Who doesn't like to chat? Play this smple rhyming game with your little one and get chatting!

Everyone loves to chat on the telephone! Recite this simple rhyme whilst miming being on the phone (or use a pretend phone – a banana or the remote control works well!)

On the telephone – chat, chat, chat
Ooh! Ah! Fancy that!
I really must go,  just look at the time (look at your watch)
Let’s chat again tomorrow – goodbye (put your banana phone down!)
