Drama Games for Kids up to 7

from website: Pyjama Drama.com

Don’t be late!
If you could invite anyone to your birthday party, who would you invite?

With your child, write up a fantasy guest list consisting of three or four people - if they could invite anyone to their birthday party who would they invite? (A princess, Fireman Sam, The Queen, a pirate for example). Begin the game by reciting:
Birthday party don’t be late
We’re ready to have fun
Come on (NAME OF GUEST -  e.g. princess) let's celebrate!
3, 2, 1
After '3, 2, 1' play some jolly music and dance around with your child in role as that party guest!
Continue to play the game, each time taking on the role of a different guest.

Flip a stick
An active game designed to get children moving!

This game is all about making pancakes and is deisgned to keep children moving! Simply randonly call out a series of instructions (below) and encourage your child or children to respond accordingly!
Flip the pancake: Children jump in the air
Pancake stuck: Children stand very still
Stir the mix: Children turn around in a circle
Break the egg: Star jump
Hot oil: Children run screaming to one side of the room
Yummy pancakes: Children rub their tummies
Can your little one think of any more instructions to extend the game?

No talking please!
Do you like to talk? What if someone told you you weren't allowed to speak? Play our non-verbal communication game to find out how well you fare!

This game can be played with a group of children, or with a single child. Begin by asking the child/ren to follow your instructions WITHOUT SPEAKING TO ANYONE!
With a group of children:
1) Get in to a straight line in height order (with the smallest children at one end and the tallest at the other)
2) Get in to a straight line in birthday order with those children whose birthdays are in January at one end and December at the other
3) In alphabetic order (first names)
With a single child (can also be played with a larger group):
1)   Show me what your favourite game is
2) Show me how you feel about sprouts/bedtime/bananas/swimming etc.
3) Show me how much you love me!
