PHYSICAL WORSHIP: Two ways to use your body in ensemble prayer (Description)

Diamond Ensemble – (similar to the old "mirror exercise" with 4 people standing in a square facing the same direction and following the person who is in front. When the person in front turns to the right or left, they pass the leading on to another person who is now in front) A way this can be used is within the set of worship music, with lyrics still rolling around our brains, or still up on the screen, the band plays through a verse of the song instrumentally while actors do this exercise (it’s quite worshipful, easy to learn, and looks choreographed). It can also be done to a special piece of music - with lyrics. Or it can be done in silence and the actors can use sounds or phrases or words as they move.

Enacted Prayer – improvised physical prayers that utilizes colored cloths, and other symbols (a candle or lantern for the Word, or a real Bible). Looks a bit similar to Playback Theatre if you’ve seen it. (This is also usually done to instrumental music, doesn’t have to be live music, but can be)
Just about anything can be prayed this way…
Could be Prayers of
Adoration of God – and what we’re learning about him – or have learned in the weeks leading up to the conference.
Thanksgiving for those we’ll be honoring who’ve had a long obedience in the same direction.
Confession re: our unholiness
Supplication - that we would hear God, know his will, be obedient…etc.
More how to notes posted earlier. Do a search above for Enacted Prayer.
